Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026 notification is out for Navik, Yantrik and Hygienist-I posts. Check eligibility, dates, fee and how to apply.

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), under the Ministry of Defence, has invited online applications for the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026 through the Coast Guard Enrolled Persons Test (CGEPT) for Batches 01/2027 and 02/2027. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is conducting recruitment for the posts of Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch), Yantrik, and Hygienist-I.

Applications for the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026 will be accepted online only from 6th October 2026 to 21st October 2026. Both male and female Indian citizens can apply for Navik (General Duty), while the other posts are open to male candidates only.

Selection Process

The selection for the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026 will be based on performance in four stages, along with medical standards and the number of vacancies available.

The merit list will be based only on marks scored in Stage I, qualification in all phases of Stage II and the vacancies available. Assessment test marks will be used only to break a tie. In case of a tie in Stage I marks, the older candidate will be placed higher, followed by the candidate with more marks in the Assessment Test.

The selection of Navik (General Duty) candidates under Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026 in either batch will depend on merit, vacancies and administrative requirements, and candidates cannot claim selection in a particular batch.

The passing marks are 40 for UR/ EWS/ OBC candidates and 35 for SC/ ST candidates. If the exam is held in multiple shifts, the marks will be normalised.

Stage II: Physical Fitness Test

All four tests of Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026 will be conducted continuously without any break. Any break will lead to failure in the test.

Candidates who qualify the PFT will appear for an online or OMR-based Assessment and Adaptability Test, which is qualifying in nature. Stage II is only qualifying in nature and lasts 1 to 2 days.

The following documents must be uploaded while filling the online application for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026:

Candidates shortlisted for Stage II must also upload their category certificate (SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL/ EWS), the relevant Class 8th, 10th and 12th mark-sheets and certificates as applicable to the post, ITI or Diploma certificates and mark-sheets, and an NOC if employed in a government organisation. All uploaded documents must be valid at least up to 31st December 2027.
