IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 opens for Guwahati and Bongaigaon Refineries. Check vacancies, eligibility, dates and how to apply.

Indian Oil Corporation Limited has announced the IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 for engagement of apprentices at its Guwahati Refinery and Bongaigaon Refinery units. The notifications were issued on 29 June 2026 under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, inviting applications from eligible candidates in Assam and other states.

The IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 covers Trade Apprentice and Technician Apprentice positions across disciplines such as Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Secretarial Assistant, Accountant and Data Entry Operator. There is no written test for this recruitment, and selection will be based on merit in the qualifying examination.

The IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 vacancies are announced separately for the Guwahati Refinery and the Bongaigaon Refinery. The number of seats, along with category-wise breakup, is given below for each unit.

The number of seats indicated is tentative and may increase or decrease at the discretion of the management. For PwBD category, candidates can apply only against identified seats under Codes 102, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110 and 111.

Stipend

As part of the IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026, the rate of stipend payable to apprentices per month will be as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, the Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended), and Indian Oil Corporation’s guidelines. No specific stipend amount has been mentioned in the notification.

Apprentices engaged under codes 101 to 107 will be provided one pair of safety shoes and a helmet, which are returnable on completion of training. No HRA or company accommodation will be provided to apprentices.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 must meet the age limit and educational qualification prescribed for each trade or discipline.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 24 years as on 30 June 2026 for General and EWS candidates.
  • Age relaxation of up to 5 years is allowed for SC/ ST candidates and 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates against reserved positions
  • PwBD candidates get age relaxation of up to 10 years, with additional relaxation where PwBD overlaps with SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL) reservation.

  • General eligibility conditions applicable to the IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 include a minimum of 50 percent marks in aggregate for the qualifying examination, relaxed to 45 percent for SC/ST and PwBD candidates against reserved seats.
  • Candidates whose results are awaited are not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates possessing higher qualifications such as BE, B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB or MCA are not eligible.
  • Candidates with job experience of one year or more after acquiring the qualification, or who completed the qualification more than five years ago, are also not eligible.

Selection Process

  • There is no written test for the IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026.
  • Selection is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination, in descending order, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
  • Preference is given to candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time.

In case of a tie in marks:

  • The candidate senior in age will rank higher.
  • If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate with a higher percentage in Matriculation will be considered.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification, followed by pre-engagement medical fitness examination before the final offer of engagement.

Documents Required

  • 10th Pass or Matriculation certificate as proof of date of birth
  • Class XII marksheet or semester-wise ITI/ Diploma/ Graduation marksheets
  • Class XII, ITI, Diploma or Graduation final certificate
  • CGPA/ OGPA to percentage conversion certificate, if applicable
  • Certificate of date of publication of result, if not mentioned in the marksheet
  • SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL) certificate or EWS Income and Asset certificate, or Disability certificate, as applicable
  • Skill Certificate in Domestic Data Entry Operator, for candidates applying under Code 111
  • Print of NATS/ NAPS portal registration with applicant details
  • Affidavit confirming compliance with eligibility conditions, as per Annexure A
  • One original photo ID proof such as Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License or Passport

Steps To Apply

  • Visit the application portal by clicking on the link given below in the Important Links section.
  • Candidates applying for Codes 101, 102, 103, 108, 109, 110 and 111 must register on the NAPS portal.
  • Candidates applying for Codes 104, 105, 106 and 107 must register on the NATS portal or Board of Apprenticeship Training.
  • Select the Apprenticeship Opportunities option, choose the relevant IOCL Refinery location, and complete registration with basic details.
  • After registering, log in to the respective NATS or NAPS portal and apply against the opportunity using the Establishment ID of the concerned refinery.
  • After applying on the NATS or NAPS portal, candidates must also fill the mandatory Microsoft Form available on the official IOCL website.
  • Ensure that details filled in both the portal and the Microsoft Form match exactly, as mismatched or incomplete applications will be rejected.
  • Submit only one response in the Microsoft Form and keep a record of the submission for future reference.

Candidates applying for the Guwahati Refinery must use Establishment ID EASKMC000002 for NATS and E08191800001 for NAPS. Candidates applying for the Bongaigaon Refinery must use Establishment ID EASCHC000001 for NATS and E07191800001 for NAPS.
