IOCL Bongaigaon Apprentice Vacancy 2026: Apply now for 58 Trade and Technician Posts

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), a Government of India Undertaking and a Fortune “Global 500” company, has released the IOCL Bongaigaon Apprentice Vacancy notification under Advertisement No. BGR/Appr/2026/04. Applications are invited to engage apprentices at the Bongaigaon Refinery under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 (as amended).

The IOCL Bongaigaon Apprentice Vacancy covers two Trade Apprentice posts and one Technician Apprentice post, with 58 seats in total. There is no written test, and selection will be based on marks in the prescribed qualification. Online applications opened on 28th September 2026 and will close on 18th October 2026.

IOCL Bongaigaon Apprentice Vacancy Details

The Bongaigaon Refinery will engage apprentices in the following trades and disciplines. The training period differs from post to post.

The seats are tentative and may increase or decrease at the discretion of the management, in line with the Presidential Directives on reservation at the time of engagement. The category-wise seat break-up (UR, EWS, SC, ST and OBC-NCL) is given in the official notification. Candidates with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) can apply only against the identified seats under Code 107.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following conditions as on 30th September 2026, which is the date of reckoning for eligibility.

Age Limit

• General/ EWS candidates: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 30th September 2026
• The Class 10th marksheet or certificate issued by the Board of Secondary Education is the only accepted proof of age.
• Candidates from SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL)/ PwBD categories are entitled to age relaxation as per Government guidelines. Please check the official notification for the complete category-wise details.

Educational Qualification

• Code 101 (Trade Apprentice – Attendant Operator, Chemical Plant): 3 years B.Sc. (Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry)
• Code 103 (Trade Apprentice – Boiler): 3 years B.Sc. (Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry)
• Code 107 (Technician Apprentice – Instrumentation): 3 years Diploma in Instrumentation Engg./ Instrumentation & Electronics/ Instrumentation & Control Engg./ Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

• The qualification must be a regular full-time course from a recognised University/ Institute, with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
• The minimum is 45% for SC/ ST/ PwBD candidates against seats reserved for them. Candidates whose results are awaited are not eligible.
• Diploma holders admitted through the lateral entry scheme are also eligible, provided they meet the required aggregate percentage across all semesters.
• Qualifications obtained through part-time, correspondence or distance mode are not accepted.
• Candidates holding higher professional qualifications such as BE/ B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB or MCA are not eligible.
• A candidate with B.Sc. can apply for only one of Code 101 or 103, and applications for more than one trade will be rejected.

Experience and Previous Apprenticeship

• Graduates and diploma holders with one year or more of job experience after qualifying are not eligible for the IOCL Bongaigaon Apprentice Vacancy.
• Candidates who have completed five years after acquiring the prescribed qualification are not eligible.
• Preference will be given to candidates applying for apprenticeship for the first time.
• Candidates who have completed an apprenticeship earlier in a different trade can apply if a gap of at least one year is maintained since completion.
• Candidates whose earlier apprenticeship was terminated by the candidate due to health or financial hardship, relocation, transportation, career change or language barrier need a gap of at least three months. No waiting period applies to women.
• Candidates whose earlier apprenticeship was terminated for failing to carry out the terms of the contract are not eligible.

Selection Process

There will be no written test for the IOCL Bongaigaon Apprentice Vacancy. Candidates registered on the NAPS/ NATS portal and applying against the notification will be considered on the following basis.

• Selection will be based on the percentage of marks, in descending order, in the prescribed qualification for the trade applied for. The aggregate of all subjects of all years/ semesters will be considered.
• In case of a tie, the senior candidate by date of birth will be ranked higher. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate with a higher percentage in Matriculation will be preferred.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification.
• Selected candidates must be declared fit in the pre-engagement medical examination.
• Finally shortlisted candidates whose documents and medical fitness certificate are in order will be issued an offer of engagement.

Documents Required

Shortlisted candidates for the IOCL Bongaigaon Apprentice Vacancy must bring the following original documents along with a self-attested copy at the time of document verification.

• Class 10th/ Matriculation certificate as proof of date of birth
• Class XII marksheet, and semester-wise/ year-wise marksheets of Graduation/ Diploma
• Graduation/ Diploma certificate
• Conversion certificate from CGPA/ OGPA/ Letter Grade to percentage, if applicable
• Certificate from the Principal mentioning the date of publication of result, if applicable
• Certificate from the Principal confirming regular full-time mode of study and good conduct
• SC/ ST/ Disability/ OBC (NCL) certificate with declaration, or EWS Income & Asset Certificate/ declaration, in the prescribed format
• Print of NATS/ NAPS portal registration with applicant details
• Affidavit on stamp paper in the format given as Annexure A, confirming compliance with eligibility conditions
• One original Photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card/ PAN Card/ Voter ID Card/ Driving Licence/ Passport)

Steps to Apply

• Visit the application portal by clicking on the link given below in the “Important Links” section.
• Register on the NAPS portal for Codes 101 and 103, or on the NATS portal for Code 107, and ensure the profile is 100% correct.
• Log in and apply for the opening of Bongaigaon Refinery using the Establishment ID. The ID is E07191800001 for NAPS and EASCHC000001 for NATS.
• After applying on the portal, fill in the additional details on the Microsoft Form linked from the IOCL website. Submit only one response.
• Use the same email ID and mobile number as registered on NAPS/ NATS, and keep them active for at least one year.
• Applications for IOCL Bongaigaon Apprentice Vacancy are valid only if both Step I (NAPS/ NATS) and Step II (Microsoft Form) are completed with matching details.
