Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying under the KAAC Veterinary Field Assistant Recruitment 2026 must fulfil the following educational qualification.
- Passed the HSSLC (Science) Examination with Biology as a subject from a recognised Board/ Council.
- Successfully completed the prescribed One Year Training Course in Elementary Knowledge of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science from the School of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Ghunguri, Silchar.
- The qualification shall be as prescribed under the applicable provisions of the Assam Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Subordinate Service Rules, 2002, as amended from time to time.
Prior Selection and Training
- The candidate must have been selected by the Central Selection Board, KAAC, for undergoing the One Year VFA Training Course under the earlier advertisements issued by the Board.
- The candidate must have successfully completed the said One Year Training Course.
- The candidate must fulfil all other conditions prescribed under the Assam Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Subordinate Service Rules, 2002, and applicable rules/ orders.
Age Limit
- The age of the candidates applying under KAAC Veterinary Field Assistant Recruitment 2026 shall be governed by the applicable provisions of the Assam Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Subordinate Service Rules, 2002, and Government orders/ instructions in force from time to time.
- The age of the candidate shall be determined on the basis of the HSLC Certificate/ HSLC Admit Card or certificate issued by the recognised Board/ Council, and no other document shall ordinarily be accepted as proof of age.
Physical Fitness
- A candidate for direct recruitment to the cadre of KAAC Veterinary Field Assistant Recruitment 2026 must be of sound health, both mentally and physically, and free from any organic defect or bodily infirmity likely to interfere with the efficient performance of his/ her duties.
- The selected candidate shall be required to undergo a medical examination before appointment to the service.
Selection Process
- The selection of candidates under the KAAC Veterinary Field Assistant Recruitment 2026 shall be made by the Central Selection Board on the basis of merit, subject to fulfilment of all prescribed eligibility conditions, availability of sanctioned vacant posts, and observance of the applicable reservation policy.

Note:
- Twenty percent of the percentage of marks obtained in the HSSLC (Science) Examination and forty percent of the percentage of marks obtained in the One Year VFA Training Course shall be taken into consideration.
- The remaining 40 marks are for the Viva-Voce before the Central Selection Board/ Interview Board, which may assess the candidate’s knowledge of basic Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, practical understanding gained during training, general awareness, and personality for the post.

- HSSLC Certificate/ Admit Card and Mark Sheet.

- Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC)/ Domicile Certificate, as applicable.
- Caste Certificate (if applicable), issued by the competent authority.
- Certificate of registration with Employment Exchange.
