The Director of Land Records & Surveys, Assam, has announced the LRA Recruitment 2026 for the position of Land Records Assistant. A total of 552 vacancies are available for candidates who have completed the required Recorder Certificate Class Course Training. Applications will be accepted online from 15th March 2026 to 30th April 2026 through the official portal. This recruitment follows the Assam Land Records Sub-Ordinate Service Rules (Amendment) 2025.
The Director of Land Records & Surveys, Assam, operates under the Government of Assam and is responsible for land record management and surveying activities within the state. This recruitment is part of its effort to strengthen the land records department by hiring trained personnel in the Land Records Assistant role.
Pay Scale
The selected candidates for LRA Recruitment 2026 will be offered a pay scale of Pay Band-2, ranging from Rs. 14,000 to Rs. 70,000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6200, along with usual allowances as per Government of Assam rules.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Candidates must be between 21 and 40 years of age as on 1st January 2025 to be eligible for LRA Recruitment 2026.
- Age relaxation applies as per government norms for reserved categories.
Educational Criteria
- Passed HSLC or equivalent from a recognized Central or State board.
- Completed a 6-month Recorder Certificate Class Course Training from Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre, Dakhingaon (excluding Sixth Schedule areas).
- Proficiency in computer use with a minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute in Assamese or Bengali.
Other Conditions
- Candidates currently in service must apply through proper channels.
- The age must be verified through Class X or XII certificates.
Selection Process
The LRA Recruitment 2026 involves a multi-stage selection process. Initially, applications will be screened, and shortlisted candidates will appear for a competitive written examination. Those who qualify will then undergo a Skill Test assessing computer proficiency. Document verification will be conducted subsequently.
