MHRB Assam Recruitment 2026: Apply Online For 560 Medical & Health Officer Posts

MHRB Assam Recruitment 2026: The Medical and Health Recruitment Board, Assam has issued a notification for filling up 560 posts of Medical & Health Officer–I (M&HO-I) under the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Assam. The notification, numbered MHRB/73/M&HO-I/2026/5051 and dated 3rd September 2026, invites online applications from candidates having Indian citizenship as defined under Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.

Under the MHRB Assam Recruitment 2026 drive, eligible MBBS degree holders registered with the Assam Medical Council can apply for these posts, which carry a pay scale of Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- along with Grade Pay and other allowances. Doctors already serving under DME, DHS, NHM Assam, or other Government of Assam agencies are also eligible to apply, without requiring a separate No Objection Certificate.

• A total of 168 posts under MHRB Assam Recruitment 2026 are reserved for women, while 22 posts (4%) are reserved for PwBD candidates, including 7 for low vision/blindness, 7 for hearing impairment, 8 for locomotor disability and 11 posts are reserved for Ex-servicemen.

Age Limit

• Candidates should not be less than 21 years and not more than 38 years of age as on 1st January 2026.
• Candidates belonging to reserved categories are entitled to age relaxation as per the existing provisions/extant rules; the complete category-wise relaxation details can be checked in the official notification linked below.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying under MHRB Assam Recruitment 2026 must hold an MBBS degree from a recognised university under the Medical Council of India (MCI), and must be registered under the Assam Medical Council.

Nationality

Candidates must have Indian citizenship as defined under Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.

Selection Process

The selection procedure for MHRB Assam Recruitment 2026 will be notified later through a separate notice. The Board will decide the selection procedure for the posts based on the number of applications received.

• Educational qualification certificates
• Date of birth proof

• Treasury Challan or GRAS payment receipt
• Working experience certificate (where applicable)
• No Objection Certificate, if currently employed with a Corporation, Board, or private employer

• Navigate to Recruitment, then select National Health Mission, Assam New.
• Log in using your mobile number and password.
• Fill up the application form for the M&HO-I post.
• Submit the form; once submitted, no further changes can be made.

Application Fee

Note:

• The fee can be deposited through a Treasury Challan under the Head of Account “0210-Medical and Public Health-01-Urban Health Services-800-Other Receipt”, or paid online through the Government Receipt Accounting System (GRAS).
• The fee is not refundable, and no other mode of payment is accepted.
