MSSV ITEP Faculty Recruitment 2026: Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya (MSSV), Nagaon, Assam has invited applications from eligible Indian citizens for the recruitment of faculty positions under the Four-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) – B.A. B.Ed. and B.Sc. B.Ed. MSSV is recognised under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, and is located at Haladhar Bhuyan Path, Kalongpar, Nagaon, Assam.

A total of 19 posts have been notified under MSSV ITEP Faculty Recruitment 2026. These posts are spread across the Head of the Department position and four categories of Assistant Professor roles, covering subjects from the sciences, social sciences, languages, educational studies, health and physical education, and art education.

MSSV ITEP Faculty Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria

Applications are invited only from eligible Indian citizens. Candidates must also fulfil the qualifications prescribed by the NCTE Regulations, 2021, UGC Regulations and Government of Assam norms wherever applicable. Mere fulfilment of the minimum qualifications given below does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview.

Head of the Department (Professor/ Associate Professor in Education)

• Postgraduate degree in Sciences or Mathematics or Social Sciences or Languages.
• M.Ed.
• Ph.D. in Education.
• Ten years of teaching experience in a teacher education institution for the post of Professor, and eight years for Associate Professor.
• Any other relevant qualification prescribed by the University Grants Commission for this category of post.

Assistant Professor (Liberal Discipline and Pedagogy)

• Postgraduate degree in Sciences (Physics/ Chemistry/ Botany/ Zoology/ Life Sciences/ Bioscience) or Mathematics or Social Sciences (History/ Geography/ Political Science/ Economics) or Languages (English/ Modern Indian Languages/ Classical Languages) with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade.
• B.Ed. degree with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.
• National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SET) or Ph.D. in Education or in the concerned subject, as prescribed by the University Grants Commission.
• Desirable: M.Ed. or M.Ed with specialization, and Ph.D. in Education.

Assistant Professor (Educational Studies)

• Postgraduate degree in Education (M.Ed.) with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.
• NET or SET or Ph.D. in Education, or any other qualification prescribed by the University Grants Commission.
• Desirable: Master’s degree in Psychology or Philosophy or Sociology or their allied subjects.

Assistant Professor (Health & Physical Education)

• M.P.Ed. with minimum 55% marks.

Assistant Professor (Art Education)

• Postgraduate degree in Performing Arts/ Visual Arts with minimum 55% marks.

Selection Process

• Candidates applying under MSSV ITEP Faculty Recruitment 2026 will be shortlisted by the University for the interview based on the eligibility criteria. Fulfilling the minimum qualifications alone does not guarantee a call for interview, and the University reserves the right to shortlist candidates or increase, decrease, or cancel any of the notified posts without assigning any reason.
• No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview, and original documents must be produced at the time of interview.
• The appointment will be subject to approval by the competent authority and recognition of the ITEP programme by the NCTE.
