JEE Mains 2022 registration begins; latest updates and exam schedule

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a notification on Tuesday, 1st March 2022, inviting online Applications for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) 2022.

JEE Mains 2022: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a notification on Tuesday, inviting online Applications for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) 2022. The notifications have been released with fresh changes in the examination pattern. The notice regarding the JEE Mains 2022 was expected one week later, but the notification has been released yesterday itself on the official website. The application process for the first session has been started yesterday and the last date to apply for the first session is on 31st of March, 2022 (Till 5 PM). Earlier the examination had four attempts which have been brought back again to two.

JEE Mains 2022: Paper 1 and Paper 2

JEE Mains 2022 will be conducted in two sessions – April and May for admission in the upcoming academic session 2022-23. It consists of two papers (candidates can apply for anyone or both). Paper 1 is conducted for admission to various Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the country.

There are no questions of the Aptitude Test and the Planning Test in Section B.
CBT Format

The examinations will occur in two shifts. The first shift will have examinations from 9 AM to 12 PM (Morning shift) and the other will occur from 3 PM to 6 PM (Evening shift). Paper 2B will occur from 3 PM to 6 PM (only the Evening shift).

Mode of Exam

The examination will be conducted on Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode except for the B.Architecture paper-Drawing Test (Part-III) in pen and paper (offline) mode, to be attempted on a drawing sheet oF A4 size.

JEE Mains 2022: Medium of Question Papers

Following the concept of New Education Policy (NEP) the JEE Mains 2022 the medium of Question paper will be available in Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu in addition to Hindi, English, and Gujarat.

JEE mains will ensure seats in the engineering colleges and National Institute of Technology all across the country. It is also the eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs.
