Salary and Benefits

  • Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs) will receive a consolidated stipend of ₹50,000 per month during the one-year training period.
  • Post-training, they will be placed in Officer Grade E-2 with a pay scale of ₹50,000 – ₹1,60,000 and an approximate CTC of ₹18.79 lakhs.
  • Assistant Officer Trainees (AOTs) receive a consolidated stipend of ₹40,000 per month during training with placement in Officer Grade E-1 afterwards, earning a pay scale of ₹40,000 – ₹1,40,000 and an approximate CTC of ₹15.34 lakhs.
  • Additional allowances such as Industrial Dearness Allowance and performance-related pay are applicable following successful training under NRL Recruitment 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:
    • GETs must hold a first-class bachelor’s degree with at least 65% aggregate marks in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognised AICTE/ UGC approved university/ institute.
    • Assistant Officer Trainees must be first-class postgraduates from recognised institutions and have qualified NET or GATE.
  • Age Limit: Upper age limit is 30 years as on 10th October 2025 with relaxations applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.

Selection Process of NRL Recruitment 2025

  • Selection involves two stages: a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and a Personal Interview.
  • CBT for Graduate Engineer Trainees includes four sections with 80% of questions from the candidate’s discipline.
    • Section A: Subject knowledge
    • Section B: General knowledge/ Current affairs
    • Section C: English language
    • Section D: Reasoning & numerical ability.
  • CBT for Assistant Officer Trainees includes General Knowledge along with questions on Indian and World Energy Scenario, Reasoning, and English language sections.
  • Minimum 50% marks are required separately in CBT and the Interview to qualify.
  • There will be no negative marking.
  • Final selection is based on 85% weightage for CBT and 15% for Personal Interview.

  • Caste/ Category certificate as applicable
  • Disability certificate for PwBD candidates
  • Proof of domicile for Jammu & Kashmir residents (if applicable)
  • Class 10th and 12th mark sheets and pass certificates
  • Qualifying degree final semester marksheet and pass certificate
  • Valid GATE/ NET certificate for Assistant Officer Trainee applicants
