RBI Assistant Recruitment 2023: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced a recruitment drive for Assistant posts against 450 vacancies. Interested candidates can get themselves registered online before or on the 4th of October, 2023. The RBI Assistant Recruitment 2023 drive is a country-wide competitive examination that will be conducted in three phases, which include Prelims, Mains and a Language Proficiency Test.

Pay Scale
- The qualified candidates of RBI Assistant Recruitment 2023 will get a starting basic pay of ₹20,700/- per month on the scale of ₹20700–1200(3)–24300-1440(4)-30060–1920(6)–41580–2080 (2)–45740–2370(3)–52850–2850 (1)–55700 and other allowances, as admissible from time to time.
- At present, the initial Monthly Gross Emoluments (without HRA) for the Assistant will be approximately ₹ 47,849.
- A House Rent Allowance of 15% of Pay will be paid to them, additionally, if they are not staying in the Bank’s accommodation.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit:
- As of 1st of September, 2023, the candidate’s age should be between 20 and 28 years. This means that the candidates born not earlier than 02/09/1995 and not later than 01/09/2003 (both days inclusive) are only eligible to apply for RBI Assistant Recruitment 2023.

Candidates having work experience in the Reserve Bank of India | To the extent of the number of years of such experience, subject to a maximum of 3 years |
Educational Qualification:
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ ST/ PwBD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.
- A candidate belonging to the Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service.
- Candidates applying for a post in a particular recruiting Office should be proficient in the language (i.e., know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting Office.
Selection Procedure
The selection for the vacant posts in RBI Assistant Recruitment 2023 will be done through a country-wide competitive examination, which will be held in three phases i.e., Preliminary and Main examination followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT).
Phase I (Preliminary Exam)
The first phase will be an online examination (objective type), that includes multiple-choice questions for 100 marks. This test would be of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 sections as follows:

- The above online tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, that is in English and Hindi.
- There will be negative marks for wrong answers and 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Phase II (Main Exam)
The second phase will also be an objective type test, that includes multiple-choice questions for 200 marks. This test would be of 135 minutes duration consisting of 5 sections as follows:

Phase III (Language Proficiency Test – LPT)
- LPT is mandatory for all the candidates who are provisionally shortlisted from the main examination.
- LPT will be conducted at the respective Regional Offices of the Bank.
- The final selection of candidates will be done on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the online examination (in the order of merit), qualifying in LPT, Medical fitness, verification of certificates, etc. to the Bank’s satisfaction.
