The selected candidates under RBI Grade B Recruitment 2026 will receive a starting basic pay of ₹78,450/- per month in the prescribed pay scale, which includes several allowances such as Special Allowance, Grade Allowance, Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance (15% if no accommodation is provided), and others. The initial gross monthly emoluments (excluding HRA) are approximately ₹1,54,936/-.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

• The candidate should be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal/ Bhutan.
• Tibetan refugees who migrated before 1st January 1962 with the intent to settle permanently in India.
• Persons of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intent to settle permanently in India.
• Candidates requiring eligibility certificates must produce them before appointment.

Age Limit (as on 1st April 2026)

• Minimum age: 21 years; Maximum age: 30 years.
• Relaxations up to 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and other provisions for PwBD, ex-servicemen, etc.
• Age relaxation is provided for candidates with M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualifications, prior banking and RBI experience.

Educational Qualifications (as on 1st April 2026)

• Grade ‘B’ (DR) – General Cadre: The candidate applying under RBI Grade B Recruitment 2026 must have a graduation with minimum 60% marks or Post-Graduation with minimum 55% marks in any discipline (relaxation for SC/ST/PwBD as per reservation).
• Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPR Cadre: MA/ MSc in Economics or Finance with minimum 55% marks; Doctorate/ M.Phil or teaching/ research experience preferred.
• Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIM Cadre: The candidate applying under RBI Grade B Recruitment 2026 must have a postgraduation with 55% marks in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related fields, or a four-year Bachelor’s degree with 60% marks; Doctorate preferred.

Number of Attempts

• General/EWS category candidates have a maximum of 6 attempts for the Phase-I examination.
• No restriction on attempts for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD).
• Encouragement for candidates without prior experience to apply.

Selection Process

• The selection of candidates for the RBI Grade B Recruitment 2026 will be conducted in two phases of examinations, followed by an interview. Candidates must clear Phase I to qualify for Phase II.

• Phase-I: Online examination of 200 marks testing General Awareness, English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning.
• Phase-II: Online examination consisting of Paper-I (Economic and Social Issues), Paper-II (English Writing Skills), and Paper-III (General Finance and Management).
• Interview: 75 marks for Personality Assessment.

Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPR

• Phase-I: Online Objective Paper on Economics and Descriptive English Paper.
• Phase-II: Written descriptive examinations on Economics.
• Interview: 75 marks.

Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DSIM

• Phase-I: Online Objective Paper on Statistics.
• Phase-II: Written descriptive Statistics Paper and Descriptive English Paper.

• Recent passport size coloured photograph.
• Signature on white paper with black ink.
• Left thumb impression on white paper with black or blue ink.
• Handwritten declaration in English on white paper with black ink.

RBI Grade B Recruitment 2026: Steps to Apply

• Visit the RBI official website (Given below) and navigate to the Careers/ Opportunities section.
• Register as a new user by providing basic details and obtain a provisional registration ID and password.
• Fill out the online application form completely – upload the photograph, signature, thumb impression, and handwritten declaration as per the specifications.
• Pay the prescribed application fee or intimation charges online via debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.
• Submit the application and take a printout of the completed application form and fee receipt.
• Keep the registered email and mobile number active to receive admit cards and important communications.
