The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has launched the SPARK internship program 2023. The SPARK fellowship or project-funded internship by IIT Roorkee is an institute-funded fellowship program for undergraduate students with a weekly stipend of ₹2500/week.

Objective of SPARK internship

The organizing institute aims to-

To provide research exposure to interested undergraduate and postgraduate students of IITR.
To attract and nurture talented undergraduate students of other institutes. Some students may then apply for postgraduate or doctoral studies at IITR.

Eligibility Criteria for

Students who are currently enrolled and have completed at least two semesters of the undergraduate degree (B.Arch./B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc/MA) in a relevant discipline from any institute in India.
The following minimum CGPA criterion will apply:

CGPA > 7.5 for IITs/IISc.

CGPA > 8.0 for NITs/ IISERs/ NISER/IIEST/UM-DAECBS.

CGPA > 8.5 for students of other institutes.

Guidelines

Applicants need to log in to submit their application and view the status of their application.
Applications need to be submitted through an online portal made for the purpose where the applicants will upload the last semester mark sheet of their current degree, a photograph, a 500-word research statement, and a brief 1-2 page resume.
No Objection Certificate (NOC)will also be sought for students of other institutes on joining.
Applicants need to mention the names of five faculty members of their choice from the list of faculty members interested in having a summer internship.

Important points for SPARK internship 2023

The internship should preferably be of 8 weeks or more, but not less than 6 weeks in any case
BTech/BE/integrated MSc students/MSc students who would have done two semesters before summer 2023 and have at least a semester remaining after summer 2023 are ONLY eligible.
The selection committee will look at all your credentials based on the information provided and make a decision. We cannot entertain requests for more information.
To convert % to cgpa follow the usual practice of your institute, if they have a guideline in this regard. Otherwise divide % by 10.
