Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Applicants must be between 18 and 27 years of age. Age relaxation is available for different categories as per government rules:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of military service
  • Departmental candidates: Up to 40 years for UR, up to 45 years for SC/ST
  • Additional relaxation for candidates domiciled in J&K and Ladakh, children of riot victims, etc., as applicable.

Educational Qualification

  • Head Constable (Laboratory Assistant): 12th class pass with Biology, one-year certificate course in Laboratory Assistant, and one year of work experience in a recognized laboratory.
  • Head Constable (Physiotherapy Assistant): 12th class pass, one-year certificate course in Physiotherapy, and one-year experience as Physiotherapy Assistant in a recognized center or hospital.
  • Constable (Nursing Assistant cum Medic): 10th class pass, First Aid certificate from St. John’s Ambulance or Red Cross Society, and one-year experience as Nursing Assistant in a recognized hospital.

Selection Process

Stage I: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST)

Stage II: Written Examination

For Head Constable (Laboratory Assistant & Physiotherapy Assistant)

Written Examination for all posts shall be Computer Based Test of 3 (three) hours duration and will be of 150 marks, consisting 150 multiple choice and objective type questions focusing on General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning and General English / General Hindi & technical subject (Optional as per medium English or Hindi).

Stage III: Document Verification, DME & RME
