Bodoland Super 50 Mission: Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi launched a new programme named ‘Bodoland Super 50 Mission’ on Tuesday, to prepare the Bodo youths who wish to excel in the IIT-JEE examination. This is an initiative by Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Pramod Boro towards the welfare of the new Bodo generation. The governor expressed happiness on the launch of the “much-needed” programme. “If we are to think about the development of Bodoland, we have to be self-dependent,” he said.

What is ‘Bodoland Super 50 Mission’?

According to an official statement, the project of the BTR administration aims at transforming the lives of engineering aspirants coming from economically weaker sections of five Bodo dominated districts of Assam.

The ‘Bodoland Super 50 Mission’ programme is an approach similar to that of some well-known earlier initiatives taken for the benefit of the bright students such as Oil India Super 30, Anand Kumar Super 30 in Bihar, ONGC Super 30, and Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS). The BTR is an elected autonomous body established under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution for the Bodo dominated areas of Assam.

For the students who dream of admissions into IITs, NITs, and top engineering institutes, the ‘Bodoland Super 50 Mission’ encourages their will by availing them of eleven months of high quality and free residential coaching in addition to which there will be a mentorship programme to students from BTR.

Fifty candidates from each district of Baksa, Chirang, Kokrajhar, Tamulpur, and Udalguri would be selected from the five districts. From each district, ten candidates would be selected.
