SSUHS GNM Nursing Admission 2026: The GNM Entrance Examination 2026 is scheduled for admission into the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course in both government and private institutes of Assam. This examination is conducted by Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) under the Directorate of Health Services, Assam. It offers candidates an opportunity to pursue nursing education for the academic session 2026-27. The entrance test will be held across multiple cities in Assam on the 28th of June, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

The minimum age for SSUHS GNM Nursing Admission 2026 is 17 years as of 31st December of the admission year.

Educational Criteria

10+2 with English with at least 40% marks from a recognized board. Science is preferable but not mandatory.
Candidates from State Open School or National Institute of Open School recognized boards are also eligible.
10+2 with English having 40% marks in vocational ANM course recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
10+2 with English having 40% marks in Vocational Stream-Health Care Science from recognized CBSE or other boards.
Registered Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) with pass marks.
5% relaxation in qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates as per INC norms.
The candidate must be medically fit.
For SSUHS GNM Nursing Admission 2026 to Government Institutes of Assam, a Permanent Resident Certificate is mandatory along with Indian citizenship.

Selection Process

The selection process for SSUHS GNM Nursing Admission 2026 is based on the GNM Entrance Examination 2026 merit list prepared from total marks secured by candidates.
In case of tie scores, the merit will be decided by marks in English, then General Science, and then Mathematics from the entrance exam followed by HSLC examination marks in the same order.

Exam Pattern/ Admission Test Details

The exam will be conducted on 28th June 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
There is one paper consisting of English, Mathematics, and General Science subjects.
Questions will be of Class 10th standard.
Total marks: 100 (100 questions × 1 mark each) – English (50 marks), Mathematics (25 marks), General Science (25 marks).
No negative marking. Unanswered questions will get zero marks.
Question paper available in English and Assamese; however, OMR answer sheets must be filled in English only.
Examination centers include Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Silchar, Jorhat, Barpeta, Tezpur, Diphu, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, Dhubri, and Kokrajhar.

Fee Structure
