STEM Scholarship 2022: British Council to provide scholarship to women, apply now

The British Council has announced the second unit of STEM Scholarship for women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) field. The application process for the STEM Scholarship will end on different dates. The earliest deadline is 14 February 2022 and the latest is 10 April 2022.

The STEM scholarship is an international scholarship programme for female students operated by the British Council in partnership with 26 UK universities. The scholarship aims at benefitting women from the Americas, South Asia, South East Asia, Egypt, Turkey, and Ukraine with a background in any of the STEM subjects. This scholarship helps selected candidates by providing them support to study in the Master’s program or help them in research work in the selected UK-based Universities. It is provided to those applicants who can demonstrate their need for financial support and who wish to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in STEM.

STEM Scholarship: Seats and facilities

There are over 100 scholarships available for courses starting in Autumn 2022, out of which 65 scholarships are reserved for women from India and other South Asian Countries. The selected students will be able to avail themselves a Masters’s Degree at a UK university along with a monthly stipend, tuition fees, travel costs, visa and health coverage fees, as well as funding for dependents if any scholar wishes to travel with their children.

This STEM scholarship aims to increase the involvement of female students in higher studies and research, as according to data released by UNESCO, globally less than 30% of women are involved in research and less than 30% of female students from STEM subjects pursue Master’s programs or research work.
