Tezpur University Recruitment 2025: Tezpur University, a prominent Central University in Tezpur, Assam, has issued a re-advertisement (Advt. No. 08/ 2025) for eligible candidates to fill various non-teaching positions. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 21 vacancies across diverse posts and classifications. The application process is entirely online through the SAMARTH portal. Candidates who applied previously against Advertisement No. 05/2024 (dated 14.03.2024) do not need to reapply but may submit an updated biodata via email.

Pay Scale

The positions under the Tezpur University Recruitment 2025 offer competitive pay scales as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) and other allowances admissible under Government of India rules. Details for each post are as follows:

  • Internal Audit Officer: Pay Level-12, rationalized entry pay of Rs. 78,800/- (Pre-revised PB-3: Rs. 15,600-39,100/- + Grade Pay: Rs. 7,600/-). This post is on Deputation for a maximum of three years
  • Assistant Registrar: Pay Level-10, rationalized entry pay of Rs. 56,100/- (Pre-revised PB-3: Rs. 15,600-39,100/- + Grade Pay: Rs. 5,400/-)
  • Assistant: Pay Level-6, rationalized entry pay of Rs. 35,400/- (Pre-revised PB-2: Rs. 9,300-34,800/- + Grade Pay: Rs. 4,200/-)
  • Laboratory Assistant: Pay Level-4, rationalized entry pay of Rs. 25,500/- (Pre-revised PB-1: Rs. 5,200-20,200/- + Grade Pay: Rs. 2,400/-)
  • Junior Accountant: Pay Level-4, rationalized entry pay of Rs. 25,500/- (Pre-revised PB-1: Rs. 5,200-20,200/- + Grade Pay: Rs. 2,400/-)
  • Upper Division Clerk: Pay Level-4, rationalized entry pay of Rs. 25,500/- (Pre-revised PB-1: Rs. 5,200-20,200/- + Grade Pay: Rs. 2,400/-)
  • Lower Division Clerk: Pay Level-2, rationalized entry pay of Rs. 19,900/- (Pre-revised PB-1: Rs. 5,200-20,200/- + Grade Pay: Rs. 1,900/-)
  • Multi-Tasking Staff: Pay Level-1, rationalized entry pay of Rs. 18,000/- (Pre-revised PB-1: Rs. 5,200-20,200/- + Grade Pay: Rs. 1,800/-)

Note: Abbreviations used for reservation are UR-unreserved, OBC-Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS-Economically Weaker Section. SC-Scheduled Caste, ST-Scheduled Tribe, and PWD-Persons With Disability are also applicable for reservations as per government norms.

Eligibility Criteria

The crucial date for determining the age limit of the candidates applying under Tezpur University Recruitment 2025 is given below:

Age Criteria

  • Internal Audit Officer: Not exceeding 56 years
  • Assistant Registrar: Not exceeding 40 years
  • Assistant: Not exceeding 35 years
  • Laboratory Assistant, Junior Accountant, Upper Division Clerk, Lower Division Clerk, Multi-Tasking Staff: Not exceeding 32 years

Age Relaxation:

  • Government servants: Up to 5 years (for Group-A & B)
  • Departmental candidates: Up to 40 years
  • SC/ST: Up to 5 years (for reserved posts)
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Up to 3 years (for reserved posts)
  • PWD: Up to 10 years (admissible even against unreserved posts)
  • Internal candidates and Ex-servicemen: As per Govt. of India rules.

Minimum Educational Qualifications and Experience:

  • Internal Audit Officer: Officers from Audit and Accounts Services in Central/State Govt. holding analogous posts on a regular basis; OR 3 years regular service in Level-11 or equivalent in Audit/ Accounts; OR 5 years regular service in Level-10 or equivalent in Audit/ Accounts in any Govt. Department/Autonomous Bodies.
  • Assistant Registrar: Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade.
  • Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree + 3 years’ experience as UDC or equivalent in Level-4 in Central/ State Govt./ University/ PSU/ Autonomous Bodies or reputed private companies/ banks with annual turnover >= Rs. 200 Crores + Proficiency in typing, computer application, noting, and drafting.
  • Laboratory Assistant (Physics): Bachelor’s degree in Physics + minimum two years of working and maintenance experience of sophisticated scientific instruments in a Laboratory (University/ Research Establishment/ Central/ State Govt./ PSU/ Autonomous Bodies or Private organization of repute with annual turnover >= Rs. 200 Crores).
  • Junior Accountant: Bachelor’s Degree + 2 years’ experience as LDC or equivalent posts in University/ Research Establishment/ Central/ State Govt./ PSUs/ Autonomous Bodies or reputed private companies/ corporate banks with annual turnover = Rs. 200 Crores + Speed in English typing @35 WPM or Hindi typing @30 WPM + Proficiency in computer operations.
  • Upper Division Clerk: Bachelor’s Degree + 2 years’ experience as LDC or equivalent posts in University/ Research Establishment/ Central/ State Govt./ PSUs/ Autonomous Bodies or reputed private companies/ corporate banks with annual turnover = Rs. 200 Crores + Speed in English typing @35 WPM or Hindi typing @30 WPM + Proficiency in computer operations.
  • Lower Division Clerk: Bachelor’s Degree + Speed in English typing @35 WPM (10500 KDPH) or Hindi typing @30 WPM (9000 KDPH) + Proficiency in computer operations.
  • Multi-Tasking Staff: 10th pass from a recognized Board OR ITI pass.

Selection Procedure

The selection process under Tezpur University Recruitment 2025 will determine merit based on required qualifications and may include a written test and/ or skill test where necessary. Personal Interviews have been discontinued for all positions except Group-A at Tezpur University since January 1, 2016. Details regarding Personal Interview (for Group-A), Written Test, Skill Test, and overall evaluation will be notified in due course.

Candidates applying under Tezpur University Recruitment 2025 will be short-listed by Screening Committee(s), whose decision is final and binding. Mere fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee consideration. The recruitment adheres to Ordinance No. 33 (Tezpur University Cadre Recruitment Rules for Non-teaching and Other Academic Posts 2022) and approval from the Ministry of Education/ UGC. The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill any of the advertised vacancies.

  • Candidates currently in service must upload a copy of the “No Objection Certificate (NOC)” from their present employer along with their application.
