The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released Indicative Special Advertisement No. 52/2026, inviting online applications for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), which functions under the Ministry of Labour & Employment. Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

The upper age limit for UPSC EPFO Recruitment 2026 varies by category, as listed below.

The age limit is further relaxable up to 10 years for PwBD candidates in respect of vacancies identified as suitable and/ or reserved for them. Candidates should refer to the detailed advertisement on the Commission’s website for the complete category-wise and sub-category-wise age relaxation and suitability details. The crucial date for determining the age limit will be the closing date for submission of the online application.

Nationality:

• A candidate must be either:
  • a citizen of India, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a subject of Bhutan, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st of January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • Provided that a candidate belonging to countries mentioned above other than India, he/ she should be a person in whose favor the Government of India has issued a certificate of eligibility.
• A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

• Caste Certificate for SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS category candidates, in the prescribed format
• Disability certificate in the prescribed format for PwBD category candidates
