The Reliance Foundation to its commitment to support and strengthen young people’s access to higher education in India has set up a system to provide Reliance Foundation scholarship for UG and PG students. The Scholarship aims to enable students to become successful professionals and realize their dreams, unlocking their potential to lift themselves and their communities up and contribute towards India’s future socio-economic development.

Eligibility Criteria for Reliance Foundation scholarship
The eligibility for Undergraduate (UG) students is as follows-
- Students who have passed class 12th with a minimum of 60% marks and enrolled in 1 st year full-time undergraduate degree in any stream.
- Be a resident Indian citizen.
- Students having House Hold income < Rs. 15 Lakhs (preference given to < Rs. 2.5 Lakhs).
The eligibility criteria for Postgraduate (PG) students are as follows-
- Be a resident Indian citizen.
- Postgraduate Scholarship: First-year PG Students who secured a score of 550 – 1,000 in the GATE examination.
OR
Students who have not attempted GATE but have scored 7.5 or above in their Undergraduate CGPA (or % normalized to CGPA). - Eligible degree programs – Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics & Computing, Electrical/ or Electronics Engg., Chemical Engg., Mechanical Engg., Renewable & New Energy, Material, Science & Engg. and Life Sciences.
Benefits of the Reliance Foundation scholarship
The Reliance Foundation scholarship aims to support up to 5,000 undergraduate and 100 of India’s brightest postgraduate students meritorious students based on a merit-cum-means criteria for their undergraduate college education, empowering them to continue their studies without financial burden.
For UG students
- The total amount of scholarship available over the duration of the degree program will be up to Rs. 2 Lakhs.
- The Reliance Foundation scholarship will go beyond financial support, with students automatically gaining networking opportunities through a strong alumni network.
For PG students
- The total amount of Reliance Foundation scholarship available over the duration of the degree program will be up to Rs. 6 Lakhs.
- 80% of the funds will be granted in advance at the start of each academic year, to use for tuition and direct academic expenses. The remaining 20% of the funds will be granted upon request to support professional development, including indirect academic and personal development expenses, including conference-related expenses.
- The selected scholars of the Reliance Foundation scholarship will also benefit from additional engagement and development activities (including the chance to attend talks and workshops with leading global experts, opportunities to apply for mentoring/ internships, volunteering opportunities, a strong alumni network, and more), and will join a vibrant community of scholars that will be at the forefront of creating and building a new India.

Selection process for UG students
Stage 1: Aptitude Test
- All applicants are to answer the online aptitude test.
- The test duration will be 60 mins and will contain 60 Multiple Choice Questions.
- Components of the test include verbal ability, analytical and logical ability, and numerical ability.
Stage 2: Initial Selection
In first Level Selection, the applications will be evaluated using a combination of aptitude test scores, and academic and personal information.
Stage 3: Selection list announcement
- Announcement of Scholars – Up to 5,000 scholars.
- All candidates will be evaluated on the basis of merit cum means.
Selection process for PG students
Stage 1: Aptitude Test

- The test duration will be 60 mins and will contain 60 Multiple Choice Questions
- Components of the test include verbal ability, analytical and logical ability, and numerical ability
Stage 2: Evaluation Stage
The applications will be evaluated by an expert panel of industry experts, academicians, and leaders in the field.
Stage 3: Interview Stage
- Interview preparation webinars will be conducted for all candidates
- Interviews will be held virtually by the expert panel
Stage 4: Selection
Announcement of Scholars-Up to 100 scholars and all candidates will be evaluated on the basis of merit.
