Assam Polytechnic Admission 2025: Apply now for 3-Year Diploma Courses

Assam Polytechnic Admission 2025: The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam, has released official notifications for admission in the 3-year Diploma in Engineering and Technology programmes in State Government Polytechnics for the 2025-26 academic year. Permanent Assam residents who fulfil the eligibility criteria can apply online from 19 May to 7 June 2025.

Government polytechnics of Assam under DTE Assam are known for providing quality technical education in 26 institutions throughout the state. These polytechnics provide diploma programs of industrial relevance and form a strong base for engineering and technical career opportunities. Admission in 2025 will be based on HSLC marks in Mathematics and Science—there will be no Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT).

Courses Offered

Under the Assam Polytechnic Admission 2025, DTE is looking to admit 4385 students into the 3-year Diploma in Engineering and Technology programmes. The seats are divided into 21 disciplines across 26 Government polytechnics of Assam.

Who Can Apply?

• Nationality: Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam.
• Age: At least 16 years as of 31st December 2025 and without upper limit.
• Qualification:
  • Candidates should have passed HSLC or equivalent exam in a single sitting through compulsory Mathematics and Science as core subjects.
  • Also, they need to pass in theory and practical exams individually.
• Minimum Marks (average in Maths and Science):
  • General/ OBC/ MOBC: 40%
  • SC: 35%
  • ST: 33%

• HSLC mark sheet and certificate
• Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC)
• Caste certificate (wherever necessary)
• Passport-sized photograph
• Signature (scanned)
• Any other certificates of relevance (e.g., sports/NCC quota)

• First of all, visit the application portal by clicking on the link given below
• Now, click on the link for registration and complete it
• After registration, log in using the registered Mobile Number/ Application No. and Date of Birth
• Fill up the form with relevant information
• Upload the necessary documents and images in the prescribed format
• Pay the application fee, which is ₹300 for Assam Polytechnic Admission 2025
• Lastly, download the acknowledgement form and keep it safe for future references

Selection Procedure

• There will be no entrance test (PAT), as it has been discontinued from 2024-25 onwards.
• Assam Polytechnic Admission 2025 will depend solely on HSLC marks in Mathematics and Science.
• The merit list will be released upon application closing.
• Shortlisted candidates are required to report for counselling and document verification according to the schedule.

Admission Fees

• The Admission Fee will be around ₹4,700 for General candidates and ₹4,200 for TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver) candidates.
• Also, there will be some additional fees that need to be paid from time to time, like examination fees, hostel, and mess charges, etc.
