Why does CBSE validates Maths?
This provision is granted by CBSE only for the academic year 2022-2023. And the reason behind permitting Mathematics as a subject in Class 11 to students who studied Basic Mathematics in Class 10, is the Covid-19 pandemic. On this, CBSE mentioned that students were adversely affected by the pandemic.
Therefore in this academic year, the Board decided to relax the educational protocol. The protocol read that, students who opted for Mathematics Standard (041) in Class 10 can only take up Mathematics (041) in Class 11.
But even though CBSE validates Maths (041) in class 11 for Basic Maths (241) students in class 10 the board has handed over the responsibility of making the final move to the School Heads.
CBSE validates Maths (041) for students but the final decision is in the hands of the Heads of the Schools. CBSE asked the School Heads to ensure if a student is capable of having the aptitude and ability to take up Mathematics as a subject in Class 11. Above all, opting for Mathematics in higher education depends on the student’s capabilities.
