Junior Assistant Vacancies

Pay Scale

The selected candidates of Junior Assistant Vacancies will receive a salary in the scale of Rs. 14,000 to Rs. 70,000 plus a Grade Pay of Rs. 8700. They will also be governed by the New Pension Rules, 2005, and other standard government allowances as applicable.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

• Age limit for the Cotton University Junior Assistant Vacancies will be as per Government O.M. No. ABP.6/ 2010/5 dated 2nd September 2020, calculated as on 01.07.2025.
• No upper age limit applies for the regular employees of Cotton University.

Educational Criteria

• Graduate degree from a UGC recognized university.
• Preferable experience in government offices or reputed government institutions with proficiency in English and Assamese (speaking, reading, writing).
• Capable of multitasking with working knowledge of computers.

Experience

Working experience in government offices, reputed government higher education or research institutions will be an advantage.

Selection Process

The selection of Junior Assistant Vacancies will involve a screening of applications followed by a written test and/or skill test. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the tests. The university reserves the right to appoint candidates on lien from reputed institutions and to disqualify candidates who attempt to lobby or provide false information.

Note: The existing contractual/ temporary workers with desired qualifications of the Cotton University will be given maximum 10 marks weightage on the length of their services rendered by them to the University, subject to 2 marks for each completed year.

• PWD certificate (if applicable)
• No objection certificate from current employer (if employed)
• Form “A” declaration of family details (to be uploaded with application)

• Fill and submit the online application form
• Upload scanned copies of the required documents as per the list
• Pay the application fee online during the application process
• After submission, print the application form
• Submit the printed application form along with relevant documents offline to the Registrar, Cotton University, Administrative Building, Cotton University, Panbazar, Guwahati-781001, Assam; India by post or in person on or before 09.02.2026.

Fee Structure

• The application processing fee is Rs. 1000/-.
• There is a 50% relaxation on the fee for SC/ST candidates as per Government of Assam policy.
• Candidates from reserved category shall be considered for appointment in the posts unreserved category subject to the applying for such posts and paying the full fee without concession.
