India Post Recruitment 2025: The Ministry of Communications, Department of Posts, Government of India has issued a notification inviting applications for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-I, January 2025 for various posts under the India Post Recruitment 2025. Read the following article to know the details and apply before 3rd March, 2025.

Vacancies

• The vacancies are available for 36 circles in different categories.

Roles & Responsibilities

Branch Postmaster (BPM)

• Manage day-to-day postal operations at the Branch Post Office. Oversee India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) services.
• Marketing and promotion of postal services.
• Responsible for mail conveyance and delivery.
• BPMs must arrange space for the Post Office at their own cost.

Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)

• Assist BPM in postal operations.
• Sell stamps/stationery, handle mail exchange, and perform IPPB transactions.
• Marketing of postal services and working at Customer Service Centers.
• Required to reside within the delivery jurisdiction of the respective Post Office.

Dak Sevak

• Work in Post Offices, Sub Post Offices, Head Post Offices, and Railway Mail Services (RMS).
• Handle mail delivery, selling postal stationery, and IPPB transactions.
• Assist in post office functions and perform mail handling duties.

Salary

The salary of the selected candidates for India Post GDS will be in the form of Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) plus Dearness Allowance (DA). The applicable TRCA to different categories are as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the India Post Recruitment 2025 must fulfil the following eligibility criteria –

Age Limit

The age limit will be considered as of last date of the application.

• The age of candidate should be between 18 years and 40 years.
• There are Age relaxations for candidates belonging to reserved categories –
  • SC/ ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwD: 10 years (additional relaxations for PwD+OBC & PwD+SC/ST)

Educational Qualification

• The candidate must have passed 10th standard (Matriculation) with passing marks in Mathematics & English from a recognized board.
• The candidate must have studied the local language of the respective state up to 10th standard.

Other Conditions

To apply for the GDS position under the India Post Recruitment 2025, candidates must meet the following conditions-

• Have basic computer knowledge
• Should be able to ride a bicycle/ two-wheeler
• They should have adequate means of livelihood

Documents Required

The documents required are as follows –

• Scanned photo (size – not exceeding 50kb)
• Scanned signature (size – not exceeding 20kb)
• Education marksheets
• Government approved valid ID proof
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
• Disability certificate (if applicable)

Selection Procedure

• The selection for India Post Recruitment 2025 will be solely based on the system-generated merit list (10th marks).
• The marks will be converted using a standard grade-to-marks formula (9.5 multiplier).
• In case of a tie, the priority will be given in the following order: Age (older candidate), Category (ST, SC, OBC, EWS, UR), Gender, etc.

What After Selection?

• Shortlisted candidates will be notified via SMS/ Email.
• Document verification must be completed within 15 days of result declaration.
• Candidates whose documents are verified successfully will receive a Provisional Engagement Offer.
• The selected candidates must complete pre-engagement training for 3 days and join within 30 days after that.
• Failure to do so, will result in cancellation of selection.

To apply for the GDS posts under the India Post Recruitment 2025, candidates must follow these steps –

• First of all, the candidates need to visit the Application portal from the link given below
• Click on the link saying ‘New Registration’
• Candidates will now have to register by providing their mobile number and email along with other personal details.
• Based on the above details, the registration number will be generated and sent to the candidate via email or SMS
• After successful registration, candidates needs to log in using the credentials and fill out the online application form.
• Enter all the details as directed and upload the essential documents along
• After this, the candidate must complete the application form by paying the application fee
• Then, the candidate must preview the application form and click on the “submit” button
• Lastly, take a printout of the payment receipt and application form of India Post Recruitment 2025 for future reference

Application Fees

• The payment can be made via recognized Credit/ Debit cards, Net Banking and UPI.
• In addition to the application fee, the Payment Gateway Charges as applicable must be paid by the candidate.
