The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras) has recently released the advertisement (Advt. No.: IITM/R/4/2025) for the recruitment of non-teaching staff for various positions. A total of 23 vacancies across different categories and posts are available. Vacancies and Pay Scale
The vacancy requirement for the non-teaching staff at IIT Madras is divided into three groups with different eligibility criteria. Overall, a total of 23 vacancies across different positions are offered by the institute.

Eligibility Criteria
The candidate apply for the recruitment drive of non-teaching staff at IIT Madras must be an Indian citizen. Other criteria includes the following –
Age
- The age criteria is different for different positions. The group wise upper age limit is as follows –
- Group A – 45 to 50 years
- Group B – 32 years
- Group C – 27 years
- Reservation policy as per Government of India (GoI) norms is followed. The relaxation in age for different categories is as follows –
- SC/ ST candidates – up to 5 years
- OBC-NCL candidates – up to 3 years
- PwD/ Ex-Servicemen – As per Government of India rules
Educational Qualifications
The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree depending on the position. Candidates with experience will be considered.
Selection Procedure
The selection process for the IIT Madras non-teaching staff consists of four stages –
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on the qualifications and experience that they submit during the application process
- Based on their application, they will be called for a written test/ skill test/ interview (English only)
- The final selection will be based on the performance in the test/ interview
Documents Required
- Educational certificates and marksheets (all semesters) in chronological order
- Certificate of Date of Birth (issued by Municipality, etc. or Matriculation/ High School certificate)
- Valid Category certificate (SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS/ Pwd/ Ex-servicemen etc.), if applicable.
- Experience certificate in chronological order in proper format
- Salary certificates towards their experiences should clearly indicate the breakup of gross salary viz. Pay, DA, HRA, and any other allowances. Salary certificates obtained from private companies/ parties with consolidated amount will not be considered.
- Certificate of proficiency should be submitted, wherever required, with respect to desirable qualifications
- No Objection Certificate (for govt. employees)
- Detailed experience certificates with salary breakup

- Candidates who are interested in applying for the IIT Madras non-teaching staff recruitment drive and meet the eligibility criteria will need to visit the official website by using the link given below
- First, the candidates will need to create a login ID as a fresh candidate
- After that, candidates need to register by providing their email, mobile number, and other details
- Then, log in to the application portal using the temporary registration ID sent to you via email and SMS
- Fill out the application form with your personal and academic details
- Then, upload all the relevant documents and review your application properly
- Lastly, pay the application fees and download the application form for future reference
