National Means Cum Merit Scholarship or NMMS is a scholarship scheme for the benefit of the students studying in class 8 in any Government or Provincialised school under the Department of School Education, Government of Assam. The scholarship is specially sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria
- The students must be studying in Class 8 in any Government or Provincialised school.
- Only the students of Government and Provincialised schools under the Department of School Education, Government of Assam are eligible to get the scholarship.
- The parental income of the student should not be more than 3.5 Lakh per annum.
- Students from Private schools, JNVs and KVs may appear in the examination, but they will not be selected for the scholarship.
Benefits of NMMS
- Under the NMMS scholarship scheme, the selected students will be awarded an annual financial aid of Rs. 12,000.
- The benefits will be offered to the students during classes 9, 10, 11 and 12, as per the norms of the Ministry of Education.

- Visit the official website of NMMS using the link given below
- Click on the “click here” under the “National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Examination, 2023”
- Get yourself registered and then log in to fill out the application form
- Enter all your personal and educational details and upload the necessary documents
- After completion of these steps, download and print out a copy of the application form for future reference

- Then go to “Menu”
- Click on the “Scheme” button
- Go for the “Minority Girls Scholarship” option
- Fill up the form by clicking on “Application Form”
