PM YASASVI 2023: The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has released the notification for a central sector scholarship scheme, named “PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (PM YASASVI)”. The scheme is for top-class education in schools for the benefit of the students studying in classes 9 and 11 under the Government of India.
This scholarship scheme is available for students belonging to the Other Backward Class (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC) and De-Notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT) categories. Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be an Indian National.
- Students must belong to Other Backward Class (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC) and De-Notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT) categories.
- Students’ Parents’ or guardians’ annual income should not be more than Rs. 2.50 Lakhs.
- Students must be studying in Class 9 or 11 in an identified Top Class School (TCS). The list of such schools is listed on the official website.
- Students studying in schools assisted under this Scheme shall not be eligible for assistance under any other scheme of the government for the items/ purposes already covered under this scheme.
- Candidates applying for the Class 9 Exam should have been born between 01.04.2007 to 31.03.2011 (both days inclusive). Whereas candidates applying for the Class 11 Exam should have been born between 01.04.2005 to 31.03.2009 (both days inclusive).
Benefits of PM YASASVI 2023
- The selected students will be awarded a financial bursary, which will be inclusive of their school tuition fee along with the hostel fee and other charges as required by the school.
- The scholarship will be provided for two years on an annual basis.
- A maximum of Rs. 75,000 per annum per student of classes 9 and 10 and Rs. 1,25,000/- per annum per student of classes 11 and 12 will be distributed.
- The number of slots for each State would be allocated based on the OBC population of that area.

- Then read the instructions carefully and proceed further
- Enter all your personal and educational details
- After that, upload the essential documents in the specified format
- Upon completion of filling out the form, submit it and take a printout of the application form for future reference
Selection Process of PM YASASVI 2023
- The selection procedure for the PM YASASVI 2023 is done on the basis of an entrance examination called the “YASASVI Entrance Test (YET)”, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
- The examination will be conducted in paper and pen mode, where the OMR sheets will be provided during the examination.
- A merit list will be compiled based on the marks obtained in the written examination. There shall be a State-wise merit list for each class for boys and girls separately. And students securing good positions in the merit list will be awarded the PM YASASVI 2023 scholarship.
YASASVI Entrance Test
- The Entrance test will be conducted in Paper pen mode (OMR based).
- The paper will be of Objective type comprising 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- The paper will have 4 subjects as follows:
- Mathematics – 30 questions
- Science – 25 questions
- Social Science – 25 questions
- General Awareness/ Knowledge – 20 questions
- Each question will carry 1 mark, and there will be no negative marking for a wrong answer.
- The question paper will be Bilingual (Hindi and English).
- Each candidate will get 2½ hours (150 minutes) to complete the test.
- A candidate will be declared qualified in the exam, only if he/she secures a minimum of 35% marks in the written test.
