The Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan has recently released a notification and informed about vacancies for graduate teachers in Arts, Science, and Hindi. Sangathan is inviting application forms from eligible candidates who are permanent residents of Assam. The form fill-up will start on February 3rd and the last date to apply is February 12, 2023.

The Adarsha Vidyalayas located in the educationally backward blocks of Assam are affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The appointment to these English medium schools is contractual for the initial 11 months and subject to renewal based on the performance of the candidates. Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

  • A candidate looking to apply for these 107 Vacancies for Graduate Teachers in Adarsha Vidyalayas must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 45 years as of 1st January 2023

For Graduate Teachers of Arts and Science:

  • The candidate must be an arts, commerce, or science graduate from any recognized university with at least 50% marks in graduation or post-graduation.
  • The candidates should have a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree from an institution recognized by the National Council of Teachers Education.
  • In pursuance of the Govt. OM No. ASE.238/2014/213, dtd. 22.11.2019, those institutions having territorial jurisdiction outside the State of Assam but having a study center in the State and such study centers if not recognized by DEC under UGC, the degrees/certificates issued by such off-campus institutions shall not be considered as valid for the purpose of employment under Education Department. However, degrees/diplomas conferred by KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL under Gauhati University, and Distance Education under Dibrugarh University shall be considered valid for the purpose of employment.
  • Keeping in mind the secondary TET Examination, the candidate must obtain 60% marks in all papers for the UR category and 55% marks for OBC/MOBC, SC, ST, and PWD categories.

For Graduate Teachers of Hindi:

  • Pravin or Ratna in Hindi with 50% marks and degree qualification with 50% marks or Post-Graduate degree in Arts with 50% marks from any recognized university. Or, BA with 50% marks or having Hindi as a subject or Post-Graduation in Arts with 50% marks provided that the candidate passed BA with one of the subjects as Hindi with 50% marks in Hindi.
  • B.Ed Degree from any recognized University (PARANGAT to be treated as a BEd Degree only for the purpose of Hindi teaching).
  • In pursuance of the Govt.   • The candidate must pass class 12th or equivalent examination in English as one of the subjector has read from Class 9 onwards in an English Medium School.
  • For recruitment of teachers for MIL, the candidate who passed MIL with that particular subject shall be considered.

Pay Scale

The pay scale of the recruited graduate teachers will be Rs 14,000 to Rs 49,000 including grade pay of Rs 8,700 and other allowances as admissible.

Selection Criteria

The Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan will prepare a merit list of graduate teachers based on the applications received for various vacancies. This list will comprise the following components:

100From the scores obtained in BA, B.Com, and B.Sc Examination for Science and Arts Teachers (in case of Major/ Hons, the marks obtained in Major/ Hons will be considered) & for Hindi Teachers, marks from BA Examination with the concerning language as one of the subjects or the highest degree in the language i.e. Pravin/Ratna Examination will be used.
100From the results of the Higher Secondary final examination
100From B.Ed final examination.

  • For example- if a candidate had scored 75% in HS Final Examination, it will be counted as 75 out of 100 marks allotted.
  • Reservation is not applicable, so the selections will be done purely on the basis of merit.
  • Sangathan will release District-wise and Subject-wise Merit Lists for 107 Vacancies for Graduate Teachers in Adarsha Vidyalayas in each category of the posts.
