Assam Secondary School Recruitment 2024: The Director of Secondary Education, Assam (DSE), had earlier released the advertisement for the post of Graduate Teacher (GT) and Post-Graduate Teacher (PGT). The application portal opened on October 21st, 2024, and the interested candidates had time until today (November 15th) to submit their forms. However, the last date for filling out the online application is now extended until midnight of November 20th, 2024.
Additionally, DSE has informed that candidates who have successfully submitted their online applications will get the “EDIT OPTION” for all fields from 22nd November 2024 till 30th November 2024 (Midnight). Also, DSE has extended the deadline for Assam PGT Teacher Recruitment 2024 for 1487 vacancies of Post Graduate Teachers.

Pay Scale
The remuneration for candidates selected in the Assam Secondary School Recruitment 2024 (in both Provincialised and Government Secondary Schools) will include salary and other allowances. The salary details are given below:

Eligibility
- The candidate applying for Assam Secondary School Recruitment 2024 must be an Indian Citizen as defined in Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- No person having more than two living children on or after 01/01/2021 from single or multiple partners shall be eligible for appointment as per the Govt. policy on Small Family Norms.
- Age Limit: A candidate must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years for the unreserved category, 42 years for Ex-Servicemen, 43 years for OBC/ MOBC and 45 years for SC/ ST(P)/ST(H) and 50 years for Persons with Disability (PwD) as on 1st January 2023 as per Govt. Office Memorandum vide No. ABP.6/2016/51 Dated 02/09/2020 and subsequent Corrigendum No. ABP.6/2016/52, dtd. 20.02.2021.
Educational Qualification
A candidate applying under Assam Secondary School Recruitment 2024 in both Government or Provincial Secondary Schools must meet the following Educational Criteria as given below:

1. The candidate must have a degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from the National Council for Teacher Education recognized Institution(s), to apply for every department mentioned above.
2. In pursuance of the Govt. OM No. ASE.238/2014/213, dtd. 22.11.2019, those institutions having territorial jurisdiction outside the State of Assam but having a study centre in the State and such study centres if not recognized by DEC under UGC, the degrees/ certificates issued by such off-campus institutions shall not be considered as valid for the purpose of employment under Education Department. However, degrees/ diplomas conferred by KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL under Gauhati University and Distance Education under Dibrugarh University shall be considered valid for the purpose of employment.

Selection Procedure
To be selected for Assam Secondary School Recruitment 2024, the following procedure is to be followed:
Teachers Eligibility Test cum Recruitment Test (140 marks)

- The marks secured in the TET cum Recruitment Test by the candidates of a particular stream, for instance, Science Stream, shall be filtered out from the main list into a separate merit list of Science Stream. A similar process shall be adopted for all other streams
- The selection of students under the TET cum Recruitment Test shall be in the ratio of 1:1 of the vacancies advertised
NCC/ Sports/ Fine Arts and Cultural Activities (5 or 3 marks)
- NCC Certificates (5 marks for “C” Certificate and 3 marks for “B” Certificate)/ 5 marks for participation in recognized sports at National Level representing Assam/ 5 marks for achievements in Fine Arts and Cultural Activities representing the State officially at National Level
- Candidates who have passed the earlier High School TET and have not been appointed to date shall get weightage @ 5% of the marks secured in the TET or a maximum of 5 marks for selection as a Graduate Teacher
