UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for upcoming Preliminary Exam of Civil Services Examination (CSE) today, on 22nd of January, 2025. The registration process for UPSC CSE 2025 is now open and the interested candidates will have time up to 11th of February to register themselves.
To clear the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025 and get posted on administrative services, a candidate has to appear in three rounds consisting of – Prelims, Mains, and Personal Interview. The Preliminary examination will be held on 25th May, 2025 in around 80 test centers spread across India. The Prelims will consist of two papers, which is General Studies Paper-I and General Studies Paper-II carrying 200 marks each.

Eligibility Criteria
- The candidates’ age should be between 21 years to 32 years, as of the 1st of August, 2025. However, there are a few relaxations for various reserved categories.
- The candidates must hold a graduate degree from any of the recognised institutes.
- The candidates from unreserved categories are permitted to appear in UPSC CSE for upto 6 attempts, whereas OBC and PwBD candidates have 9 attempts, and there are unlimited attempts for SC and ST candidates.
How to apply for UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025?
- To apply for UPSC CSE 2025, candidates need to register themself on the One Time Registration (OTR) platform of UPSC (If done earlier or if the candidate is already registered, he/she can proceed straightway to fill up the online application for the exam)
- Next, go to the UPSC log-in page and log in
- Verify your details given during Registration
- Go to Dashboard and click on “Apply to Active Notification”
- Click on the link corresponding to UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025
- Fill out the required details as asked in the portal
- Then pay the application fees and select the preferred city for the exam centre
- Upload the photograph, signature, and photo-identity proof
- Lastly, submit the application form and don’t forget to download a copy of the application form for future reference
Application Fees
- The application fee for UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025 is Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only).
- However, all the female candidates along with candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ Persons with Benchmark Disability category are exempted from this payment.
