Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Educational Qualifications

  • Project Scientist (Agriculture Assessment and Fisheries Resource Mapping): 1st Class Master’s Degree in Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, Agricultural Science (specialization in Agronomy or Soil Science), Geography (with specialization in Remote Sensing & Geo-informatics), Zoology (specialization in Fish Biology & Fishery Science), or equivalent.
  • Project Scientist (I.T.): M. Tech/ M.E./ M.C.A/ M. Sc in Remote Sensing, GIS, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent. Alternatively, B.E./ B. Tech in Computer Science/Information Technology/ Geoinformatics with suitable experience.
  • Project Scientist (Agro-forestry Site Suitability Analysis and Tree Carbon Estimation): 1st Class Master’s Degree in Forestry or Botany with specialization in Taxonomy/ Ecology and postgraduate training in Remote Sensing or equivalent. Alternatively, M. Tech in Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing & GIS, or related fields with forestry/ ecological experience.
  • Project Scientist (Border Monitoring, LULC Change Analysis, Geo-analytics): 1st Class M.Sc. or M. Tech in Geoinformatics, Spatial Information Science, Geospatial Technology, Civil Engineering with Diploma in Geoinformatics, or Geography/ Earth Science with Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS or equivalent.

Experience & Skills

  • Relevant experience in remote sensing, GIS, GPS, UAV applications for natural resources and agriculture is desirable.
  • For IT posts, experience in mobile app development, spatial decision support systems, geospatial dashboards, AI/ML/DL applications, programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, and tools like Hadoop, Apache Web Server, ArcGIS Arcade is preferred.
  • Experience with satellite data processing tools such as ERDAS Imagine, ENVI, Google Earth Engine, familiarity with AI/ML geospatial tools, and Geo Web portals/Web GIS applications is desirable for related project roles.

Selection Process

Candidates applying under Assam State Space Application Centre Recruitment 2025 will be shortlisted based on proof of experience and qualifications prior to the walk-in interview. The interview will be conducted on 20th September 2025 from 10:00 a.m. onwards. Only candidates with requisite qualifications, experience, and self-certified documentation will be allowed to appear for the interview.
