Assam Government Mega Recruitment 2023: Assam Government today made a significant announcement that brings good news for job seekers in the state. With a target of creating more than 1 lakh job opportunities, the government has issued a notification for over 30,000 vacancies across various departments. This move aims to address the long-standing issue of job scarcity and provide employment in Assam. The advertisement details will be released on 10th of September, 2023.
Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, had earlier announced on May 23 that the government plans to create 100,000 jobs. They will do this by advertising 22,776 positions in different departments, aiming to fill vacancies and make the recruitment process more streamlined. But the recent notifications have exceeded the total tally of jobs.

Assam Government Mega Recruitment 2023: May 23 announcement by CM Sarma
Earlier on May 23, 2023, the CM of Assam had given clear details based on the total seat allotment in various departments. The list of vacancies are given below:
- The Assam State Electricity Board will advertise 2,500 posts to strengthen the power sector
- The Agriculture Department and Police Department will announce vacancies for 2,500 and 2,000 positions respectively
- The Health Department will open 600 positions for healthcare professionals
- Other departments will contribute to the initiative by advertising a total of 5,865 vacancies
- The education sector will also benefit, with advertisements for 10,219 positions

Under Assam Government Mega Recruitment 2023, there have been issuance of more than 32,000 job notifications demonstrates the government’s commitment to tackling unemployment and ensuring economic growth in Assam. There have been no details whether the Grade-3 and Grade-4 vacancies will be fulfilled from earlier lists or new recruitment drive will be taken because there has been no provision of waiting list in the job selection procedure in the state of Assam.
