Cotton University HS Admission 2022: Forms open, all you should know about

The Cotton University has opened the application portal for admission into Higher Secondary courses, that is in Class 11th. The procedures for Cotton University HS Admission 2022 have started on the 18th of June, and students will have time upto the 25th of June to fill up their forms.

Interested students should note, that they will need to complete two separate registrations, firstly in the Darpan portal; and then on the website of Cotton University.

Courses offered

Cotton University is looking to admit 320 students in Science and 120 students in the Arts stream in this academic year 2022-23. Here is the combination of subjects available under Cotton University HS Admission 2022:

Higher Secondary (Science)

• English is compulsory for all the students.
• Environmental Studies or EVS is compulsory in the first year.
• Candidates need to opt for one MIL subject from Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, and Hindi or can study Alternative English.
• Students can study a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 subjects from the following:
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • Biology/ Statistics/ Computer Science & Application (anyone of these)
• Students who opt for Computer Science need to study Mathematics compulsorily.

Higher Secondary (Arts)

• English is compulsory for all the students.
• Environmental Studies or EVS is compulsory in the first year.
• Candidates need to opt for one MIL subject from Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, and Hindi or can study Alternative English.
• Students can study a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 subjects from the following pools:
  • Pool 1: Political Science, Economics, Education, Logic, Philosophy (minimum 2)
  • Pool 2: Mathematics, History (maximum 1 from this pool)
  • Pool 3: Anthropology, Advance Bengali, Advance Hindi, Arabic, Computer Science & Application, Geography, Persian, Sanskrit, Statistics (maximum 1 from this pool)
  • Students who opt for Computer Science need to study Mathematics compulsorily.

Cotton University HS Admission 2022: Steps to apply

All the students who are looking forward to applying for Cotton University HS Admission 2022 are required to fill up two forms, one through the Darpan portal; and second in the Cotton University’s admission portal. Here are the steps involved:

• First of all, visit the Darpan portal and get yourself registered in it
• Next, fill up the application form and select your desired course and ‘Cotton University’ as one of your preferred colleges
• After filling out the admission form in the Darpan portal, go to Cotton University’s Admission portal
• Click on the register button given under ‘Online Application for HS Admissions’
• Enter your mobile number and email address, and then request an OTP
• You will now receive an OTP in your registered mobile number; enter it on the website and note down the username and password displayed on the screen
• Now, log in to the admission portal using the username and password received
• Choose your desired stream, either Science Science or Arts, and click on the Apply now button
• Complete all 4 steps by filling out your personal details, address, and educational qualifications, then upload all the necessary documents/ images as asked
• Lastly, pay the application fees and submit your form for Cotton University HS Admission 2022
• Also, you need to download the payment receipt and admission form for future references

Documents required

While filling out the application form for Cotton University HS Admission 2022, students need to keep the following documents ready with them:

• A passport-sized photograph
• Full signature
• Marksheet of Class 10th examination
• Caste Certificate (if applicable)
• Domicile Certificate
• Income & Asset Certificate (if the student is seeking a reservation under the EWS category)
• Gap Certificate (a scanned copy of a signed declaration countersigned by her/his parent or guardian, testifying to her/his activities during the interim period)

Fees applicable

The students need to pay an application fee of Rs. 300.00 (Rupees three hundred only) during the process of submission of the online application forms. They can pay the amount via Netbanking, Credit/ Debit Cards, UPI, etc.

Selection Procedure

Once the application procedure is completed, authorities will release a list of eligible candidates for Cotton University HS Admission 2022 on its official website. The list will be prepared purely on the basis of merit in the last qualifying examinations, i.e. his/her performance in class 10th or equivalent examination. Cotton University also provides reservations to students as per the rules set by the State government of Assam.
