Research Assistant Vacancies: Apply now for 3 posts in Finance Department

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has announced research assistant vacancies under the Finance (Budget) Department. This recruitment is aimed at Indian citizens who are permanent residents of Assam. There are a total of three posts available for the position of Research Assistant. Candidates with a graduate degree in Science, Commerce, or Arts are eligible to apply, with preference to those with backgrounds in Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics.

Research Assistant Vacancies

Pay Scale

• The pay scale for the Research Assistant vacancies ranges from Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 97,000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 9,400 under Pay Band 3.
• Additional allowances are admissible as per Assam State Government rules.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 21 and 38 years old as of 1st January 2025. Age relaxation applies as follows:

• SC/ ST candidates: up to 43 years
• OBC/ MOBC candidates: up to 41 years
• Ex-Servicemen: up to 50 years for unreserved category with further relaxations for OBC/ MOBC and SC/ ST candidates
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years relaxation irrespective of category
• Government employees: up to 45 years with applicable relaxations

Educational Qualification

• Graduate in Science, Commerce, or Arts from a recognised university.
• Preference for candidates with degrees in Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics.
• Six-month diploma in Computer Applications is desirable.

Other Criteria

Applicants must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam. Valid domicile proof, such as Permanent Resident Certificate or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate must be uploaded during application.

The selection procedure for Research Assistant vacancies will be announced later by APSC and may include various stages such as written examinations and interviews. The commission reserves the right to modify the selection process based on the number of applicants.

Steps to Apply

• Next, click on the button given for New Registration
• Then, candidates will have to register by providing their mobile number and email, along with other personal details
• Based on the above information, the registration number will be generated
• However, if the candidate has previously registered in the APSC’s recruitment portal, they can use their old login credentials
• After successful registration, candidates must log in using their credentials and fill out the online application form
• Enter all the details as directed and upload the essential documents in the prescribed format
• After this, the candidate must complete the application form by paying the application fee
• Then, the candidate must preview the application form and click on the “submit” button
• Lastly, take a printout of the payment receipt and application form for future reference
