NIT Meghalaya is offering an internship program for B.Tech, M.Tech, and M.Sc students to pursue innovative research and development project works.
NIT Meghalaya: The National Institute of Technology Meghalaya has recently released an advertisement on the 12th of April 2022 regarding the Summer Internship program offered by the Institute, for the May – July 2022 session. The internship program is applicable for B.Tech, M.Tech, and M.Sc students from various institutions across the country.
The main aim of the internship program is to provide an opportunity for bright and interested students from different institutions to pursue innovative research and development project work under the guidance of faculty members of NIT Meghalaya.

Departments available: NIT Meghalaya summer internship 2022
The summer internship program 2022 offered by NIT Meghalaya is available under eight departments which are listed below, and each department consists of a number of projects with a project supervisor.
- Electronics & Communication Engineering (EC)
- Computer Science & Engineering (CS)
- Civil Engineering (CE)
- Mechanical Engineering (ME)
- Electrical Engineering (EE)
- Physics (PH)
- Chemistry (CY) and
- Mathematics (MA)
Eligibility
The candidate applying for the program must hold the respective eligibility-
- For B. Tech students – must have completed six semesters in the relevant disciplines of engineering.
- For M. Tech students – must have completed two semesters in the relevant disciplines of engineering.
- For M. Sc. students – must complete their first year in one of the following disciplines: Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics.
Duration of the program
The NIT Meghalaya internship program shall be held for a period of a minimum of 6 weeks and a maximum of 8 weeks between 30th May and 22nd July 2022.
Procedure to Apply for the Program
The Interested students have to submit the application form for the 2022 Summer Internship Program at NIT Meghalaya. The duly filled application form forwarded by their Head of Department/ Institution must be sent to “Dr. Pradeep Kumar Rathore, Coordinator – Summer Internship 2022, Room No. F5, NIT Meghalaya, Bijni Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong- 793003, Meghalaya, India.”
Interested candidates can download the Application form by Clicking here, which they will need to fill up and send to the Internship Coordinator. The application forms must reach the Coordinator on or before 29th April 2022.
Selection Process for the Internship
The selection of applicants for the Summer internship will be done based on the recommendations of the selection committee of the respective departments of NIT Meghalaya.
Also, the conducting institute NIT Meghalaya reserves the right to accept or reject an application without assigning any reason thereof. The list of shortlisted candidates and concerned supervisors will be published on the institute’s official website by 6th May 2022. And no postal communication will be made to the shortlisted candidates.

Terms and Conditions
The selected candidates have to deposit an amount of Rs. 7500/- as caution money which is refundable only after the successful completion of the internship by the candidate. The details of the payment process will be uploaded with the list of shortlisted candidates on the institute’s website.
The facility of shared accommodation will be available in the student’s hostel on a payment basis. A non-refundable maintenance charge of Rs. 5600/- will be charged from each of those candidates who shall be opting for hostel accommodation. This amount includes
- Seat rent of Rs. 1500/- per month
- Electricity and water charges of Rs. 300/- per month
- Transportation charges of Rs. 800/- per month, and
- Internet fees of Rs 200/- per month.
The amount will be deducted from the caution money. Also, the candidates have to bear their mess expenses at the rate of Rs. 189/- per day during the internship period at NIT Meghalaya. The candidates have to pay the mess charges in advance on the day of joining the internship program at NIT Meghalaya.
