Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the essential requirements and other conditions to get selected under UPSC Recruitment 2025. The date for determining eligibility in every respect is the prescribed closing date for submission of the Online Recruitment Application (ORA).

Age Criteria

  • Age limits vary for different posts under UPSC Recruitment 2025. For instance, it is 48 years for OBCs for Associate Professor posts, 30 years for UR for Data Processing Assistant and Assistant Production Manager, 33 years for OBCs for Assistant Production Manager, 40 years for UR/ EWSs and 43 for OBCs for various Specialist Grade III posts, 35 for UR/ EWSs, 38 for OBCs, and 40 for SCs/ STs for Assistant Director (Official Language), 45 for UR/ EWSs, 48 for OBCs, and 50 for SCs/ STs for Specialist Grade III (Radio-diagnosis) in GNCTD.
  • Age limits are relaxed for SC/ ST candidates (up to 5 years), OBC candidates (up to 3 years), and PwBD candidates (up to 10 years) for vacancies reserved for them.
  • For age concession applicable to other categories, candidates should refer to the “Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection”.

Educational Criteria

Specific minimum educational qualifications to get selected under UPSC Recruitment 2025 are prescribed for each post.

  • For Legal Officer (Grade-I), it is a Degree in Law with three years experience dealing with criminal or fiscal laws OR a Master’s Degree in Law with one year experience dealing with criminal or fiscal laws.
  • For Data Processing Assistant, it requires a Master’s degree in Computer Applications or Computer Science or Information Technology OR a Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology in a relevant computer science/ IT field.
  • For Assistant Director (Official Language), a Master’s degree in Hindi or English or another subject with specific combinations of Hindi and English at the degree level is required.
  • For various Specialist Grade III posts, a recognized MBBS degree qualification is required.
  • Qualifications may be relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of otherwise well-qualified candidates.

Selection Procedure

Candidates must apply online for the posts under UPSC Recruitment 2025 through the designated website.

  • Candidates are shortlisted for interview based on the information provided in their online applications.
  • The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum, and merely possessing them does not guarantee being called for an interview.
  • The Commission may adopt various shortlisting criteria if the number of applications is large, including using desirable qualifications, higher educational qualifications or experience, or experience obtained before or after essential qualifications.
  • A Recruitment Test (RT) may also be held as a shortlisting method.
  • In cases where selection involves a Recruitment Test followed by an interview, a weightage of 75:25 is generally accorded for marks in the Recruitment Test and interview, respectively, to determine the final merit.
  • Candidates must achieve a minimum level of suitability in the interview stage in their respective categories. The minimum suitability levels for interviews out of 100 marks are UR/EWS-50 marks, OBC-45 marks, and SC/ ST/ PwBD-40 marks.
  • Shortlisted candidates are required to bring a printout of their online application and original documents/ certificates, along with self-attested copies, at the time of the interview.
  • Failure to produce these documents will result in the candidate not being allowed to appear for the interview.
